AIMEN unveils additive manufacturing breakthrough with IN718 Powder Alloy
In the framework of the ACHIEF project, AIMEN has additive manufactured an industrial part in IN718 powder alloy using laser beam directed energy deposition.
This part has been thermal treated and post-machined to be placed in a pre-heating furnace on the facilities of ARCELORMITTAL in Sestao.
Our goal is to develop high entropy alloys (HEAs) materials and coatings able to stand high temperature conditions. In the near future we will manufacture the same part made of HEA, while the IN718 will be used to assess the potential of additive manufacturing technology as benchmark of the current materials and the future ones.
